March Madness is here, and Houston bars and restaurants are going all in on the action. Wall-to-wall screens, drink specials and game-day bites are on tap so fans can catch every matchup through the championship. Whether you’re rooting for the Houston Cougars or just chasing wings and beer buckets, these spots are turning the tournament into the city’s ultimate watch party. Bayou Heights Bier Garten, 3905 Washington Bayou Heights Bier Garten is turning March Madness into a full watch party. Expect weekday happy hour runs from 3 to 6 p.m. with half-off house cocktails and wine and $5 beers, plus shareable Game Day Boards ($75) and Half Time Boards ($40) loaded with smoked wings, sliders, tacos, queso, fries and pizza. Fans can also grab $40 High Noon buckets and beer served in signature steins. The Burger Joint, multiple locations Fans can drink their way through The Burger Joint’s March Madness Beer Bracket during the tournament for a chance to win a $10 gift card while catching the games with burgers, fries and cold drafts. Christian’s Tailgate, multiple locations Christian’s Tailgate is tying its drink specials to the hometown team’s tournament run. Topo Chico Hard Seltzers start at $6 and drop $1 every time the Houston Cougars men’s basketball advance, potentially falling to just $1 if the team reaches the championship game. Fans can catch all the action on the bar’s TVs throughout the tournament. Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, multiple locations Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is offering limited-time taco party packs for tournament watch parties from March 17 to 22 and April 4 to 6. The deals include a 10-pack for $25 with ground beef and shredded chicken tacos and a 15-pack for $35 featuring ground beef, shredded chicken and carnitas tacos, available for online ordering through the Fuzzy’s website or mobile app. Kirby Ice House, multiple locations Pop in for patio drinks and March Madness action, plus enter the bar’s Terrible Bracket Challenge. Local Bar, 24033 Cinco Ranch, 10615 Fry Local Bar will show both March Madness with food and drink specials running throughout the tournament at its Katy-area sports bar. Local Spot, 6460 Cross Creek Bend Local Spot will air March Madness with food and drink specials available all tourney long. Lo-Lo’s Chicken & Waffles, 3711 Gulf The new Third Ward spot is bringing serious game-day viewing power with 11 screens, including a massive 14-foot LED screen on the patio. Fans can catch every matchup while digging into the restaurant’s signature chicken and waffles, soul food sides and cocktails. NextDoor Bar & Lounge, 14714 Memorial The bar will be showing all the March Madness action alongside food and drink specials. The Savoy, 4402 Emancipation The Savoy is hosting free March Madness watch parties with games shown on its massive 260-inch outdoor LED screen. Fans can grab draft cocktails like the Coogs House and Tiger Blood alongside sliders, wing platters and shareable boards, plus crawfish specials including $9 per pound and a $10 happy hour crawfish bowl. Shipley Do-Nuts, multiple locations Shipley is temporarily renaming its popular bear claws “Cougar Paws” in honor of the hometown team during the tournament. The cinnamon-dusted pastry is fried golden and dipped in vanilla glaze and will be available at participating Houston locations for the duration of the University of Houston’s tournament run. The Spot, 2003 Emancipation This longtime Third Ward neighborhood bar is showing tournament games all month with strong drinks and a lively crowd of University of Houston students, alumni and locals. State Fare Kitchen & Bar, multiple locations State Fare is offering a $10 beer flight featuring four rotating brews during live tournament broadcasts from March 17 through April 6. Guests can also order from a special game-day menu while watching the action. Twin Peaks, multiple locations Twin Peaks is hosting its Dos Million Bracket Challenge, giving fans a chance to win $2 million by submitting a perfect bracket between March 15 and 19. Each lodge will also crown a local winner who receives a $50 gift card while fans watch the games with scratch-made food and 29-degree draft beer. Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, multiple locations Walk-On’s is celebrating Slam Dunk Madness with shareable game-day favorites and a new Peach Heat wing sauce. Guests who order any size Coors Light dine-in will receive $1 off a 12- or 18-count order of wings while watching the tournament.
